Sandra Franklin brings an extensive background in protective proceedings to LRC. Judge Franklin took several classes with the National College of Probate Judges in Reno, Nevada following her graduation from University of Colorado School of Law. Less than one year after receiving her J.D., she began working for the Colorado Judicial Branch. Judge Franklin served as the Denver Probate Court magistrate for sixteen years. She was also one of the founding officers of the Colorado Magistrate Association.
Judge Franklin is a frequent speaker on probate matters at continuing legal education seminars. She authored a chapter on protective proceedings in the legal reference, The Colorado Orange Book. Judge Franklin has also written articles for The Colorado Lawyer .
Judge Franklin worked with LRC part-time even while working in the Denver Probate Court. She has managed a variety of cases with special emphasis on protective proceedings, will contests and trust disputes.
