![]() Sandra Franklin
Arvada, Colorado Sandra Franklin graduated from the University of Colorado School of Law in Boulder, Colorado, with her doctorate in jurisprudence in 1988. Shortly thereafter, she began 16 years of service as magistrate of the Denver Probate Court, presiding over more than 10,000 probate hearings and mediations. After attending mediation training at the National Judicial College in Reno, Nevada, Magistrate Franklin instituted a mediation program at the Denver Probate Court where she assisted indigent families in avoiding prolonged litigation. In 2008, she returned to the Colorado Judicial Branch as Probate Coordinator for the State of Colorado, where she oversees probate policies and programs. In 2007, she was appointed by the Colorado Chief Justice to serve on the Probate Task Force. She authored the "Protected Persons" chapter of the Colorado Estate Planning Handbook and is a frequent CLE speaker. She was one of the founding officers of the Colorado Magistrate Association, and is a former chair of the Colorado Bar Association Statutory Revisions Committee and the Judicial Liaison Committee.
