James N. Wolfe received his bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Wyoming. Judge Wolfe graduated from the University of Wyoming, College of Law in 1965 and began the private practice of law in Sheridan, Wyoming, later that year.
Judge Wolfe was later appointed as the Director of the Wyoming Crime Commission and Administrator of the Governor's Planning committee on Criminal Administration. Subsequently, he returned to his practice of law and served as the County and Prosecuting Attorney for Sheridan County, Wyoming. His law practice involved estate work, business matters and corporate matters, as well as personal injury matters. In 1985, he was appointed the sole District Judge in the Fourth Judicial District of the State of Wyoming and was responsible for all cases both civil and criminal.
After serving as a judge for eight years, Judge Wolfe returned to the private practice of law in Cheyenne, Wyoming, in 1993. Judge Wolfe also has been appointed as a hearing officer for various state agencies. He joined LRC in 2002, where he currently handles cases throughout the Rocky Mountain West.
