Sandra Franklin was appointed in 1989 as the Denver Probate Court Magistrate. In 1996, she completed mediation training in Boulder, Colorado and began mediating cases for the Denver Probate Court. In 1997, she was appointed to serve also as the Administrator for the Denver Probate Court. As the Magistrate for the Denver Probate Court, she has presided over more than ten thousand probate hearings, settlement conferences, and mediations.

Ms. Franklin received her law degree from the University of Colorado School of Law. She received her undergraduate degree in communications from the Metropolitan State College of Denver. She is a member of the National College of Probate Judges and a member of the board of directors for Jefferson County Legal Assistance Program, a tax-exempt, charitable organization providing legal services and referrals to seniors.

An active member of the Colorado Bar Association, Ms. Franklin served as the chair of the Statutory Revisions Committee and the Judicial Liaison Committee and as a member of the Probate Council. She is a frequent CLE speaker and has written for The Colorado Lawyer .
