James N. Wolfe graduated with his bachelor's degree from the University of Wyoming in 1962. He received his juris doctor degree from the University of Wyoming in 1965 and began the private practice of law in Sheridan, Wyoming that year. In 1968 he was appointed Director of the Wyoming Crime Commission and was the Administrator of the Governor's Planning Committee on Criminal Justice.
Judge Wolfe returned to private practice in Sheridan in 1971. In 1985, he was appointed as a District Judge in the Fourth Judicial District in Sheridan. He served in that position until 1993. As the sole District Judge in the district, Judge Wolfe was responsible for all cases. He handled both a civil and criminal docket.
In 1993, Judge Wolfe returned to the private practice of law in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He has handled cases throughout Wyoming. He has been selected to act as a mediator and arbitrator on many matters, as well as being appointed as a hearing officer for various state agencies. Judge Wolfe has handled all types of civil cases in his career as a lawyer and a judge.
Judge Wolfe joined LRC in May, 2002. He is handling cases throughout the Rocky Mountain West.
