Hearing Officers

Former Judges Available to Serve as Hearing Officers

Former state and federal judges at the Legal Resolution Center are available to conduct hearings for county or local governments. These former judges often are called upon to handle employment termination or disciplinary hearings for local governments.

Contact LRC at its office in Westminster, Colorado, to discuss pending administrative hearings concerning the following issues, which may require the services of hearing officers:

• Disciplinary actions
• Liquor license revocations for restaurants and other vendors
• Fireworks violations
• Domestic matters
• Contract disputes
• Infractions of statutes, ordinances, or regulations of jurisdictions such as fire districts or recreation districts

As hearing officers, LRC's former judges explain the hearing process to participants, question parties in conflict and preside over witness testimony sessions. They are charged with ensuring that all parties receive a fair chance to present their cases.

Hearings typically include elements such as:

• Review of charges and evidence
• Review of statutes, regulations or ordinances
• Review of relevant contracts
• Evaluation of enforceability of contracts or laws

Former State and Federal Judges
